There are indications that Chelsea have succeeded in unsettling one of its key target, Mauro Icardi if reports coming from Italy is anything to go by.

The Inter Milan striker is reported to have refused extending his contract at the club, a move that would have him leave the club anytime soon.

According to reports as cited by Calciomercato, Inter had offered the striker just as it was demanded by his representatives but the player has refused to sign the deal for reasons unknown.

Suggestions are that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has convinced Icardi of his plans for him at the Stamford Bridge with the player already buying into it.

The Blues are also willing to break the bank for the forward who has a release clause of £97.5 million to his current contract that will be activated at the end of the season.

The Stamford Bridge side are desperate to take off some burden off Belgium international Eden Hazard who is believed to be overburdened with the responsibility of helping the club win games.

However, it is not clear if Chelsea are ready to meet the £8 million per year deal offered the player by Inter Milan as that will play a major role in his consideration.
