Manchester United have been rocked by the news that forward Alexis Sanchez will miss the huge Champions League clash with Italian champions Juventus on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils host the Old Lady in a Matchday 3 clash at Old Trafford and will be without the Chilean forward for the game.
The 29-year-old will miss the Juventus game due to an unspecified problem.
He was one of several Manchester United players who missed the former Premier League winners’ public training session earlier on Monday.
Other Manchester United stars like Phil Jones, Diogo Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Marouane Fellaini and Scott McTominay also missed the training for various injury problems.
Alexis’ absence was confirmed by the former Inter Milan and Chelsea boss during his pre-match press conference ahead of the game as he confirmed that the players who missed the training session are out of Tuesday’s game against Juventus.
Alexis Sanchez has failed to light up Old Trafford since his move from rivals Arsenal during January’s transfer window.
He has scored just four goals in 25 games for Manchester United in all competitions.
The Chilean international star joined the club in a swap deal involving Armenian international playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
His last appearance came as a second half substitute in the 2-2 Premier League draw at Chelsea on Saturday.
