Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has called on the Gunners to tie Welsh international star Aaron Ramsey to a new deal at the club.

According to the Three Lions of England man, Ramsey is a future Arsenal captain who has the quality to play for any team.

Jack Wilshere knows all about Arsenal after ending his 17-year stay in North London to sign a three-year deal at fellow London club West Ham United.

The 26-year-old joined the Hammers during this summer’s transfer window as a free agent after his Arsenal contract expired at the end of last season.

He spoke about Aaron Ramsey and his contract situation with the Gunners in an interview with Islington Gazzette as reported by greatgoals.

Ramsey could leave the club when the transfer window reopens in January or during next summer’s transfer period after the Gunners withdrew their contract offer to the 27-year-old in September.

He has less than a year left on his current deal with Arsenal.

Since joining the North Londoners in 2008 in a £4.8m deal from newly promoted Premier League side Cardiff City, Aaron Ramsey has become an important player for Arsenal.

His numerous achievements at Arsenal include two FA Cup title-winning goals in 2014 and 2017 against Championship side Hull City and London rivals Chelsea respectively.
