Forgotten Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud scored the winning goal for world champions France as they came from behind to beat Moldova and usurp Turkey at the top of Group H of the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
France suffered a little scare at home against the Moldovans but Chelsea outcast Giroud was able to bail his team out of that situation.
Vadim Rata had given Moldova a shock lead in the ninth minute after he pounced on the weak clearance from Barcelona center-back Clement Lenglet.
France had a lot of possession but struggled to break down the visitors until stand-in captain Raphael Varane equalised for the hosts just before the halftime whistle.

Shortly before the game, France had found out about their qualification for Euro 2020 as a result of the goalless draw between hosts Turkey and France.
Despite their qualification news, France struggled to produce a performance worthy of a team that just secured a berth at Euro 2020.
France improved a bit after the halftime interval but had to wait till 11 minutes from time to bag the winner through Giroud who scored from the penalty spot after Everton left-back Lucas Digne was brought down in the box.
The win moved France two points clear at the top of Group H.
