Europa League: Teenager Scores First Goal To Give Man Utd Victory

Highly rated Manchester United teenager Mason Greenwood scored the only goal of the game as the Red Devils started their Europa League campaign with a win.

The young English player was responsible for the only goal of the game as Manchester United beat Astana FC of Kazakhstan 1-0 in their opening game in Group L.

The Manchester United teenager hit the back of the net with the winning goal on 73 minutes.

It was his first goal in the colours of Manchester United who are making a return to the competition for the first time after winning the competition in 2017.

Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho was the manager at Manchester United when they won the Europa League title by beating Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam 2-0 in their final clash.

With the help of the Europa League, Jose Mourinho and Manchester United were able to qualify for Champions League football in the following season.

Manchester United are the early leaders in Group L after the narrow win over the team from Kazakhstan which was accompanied by much needed clean sheet.

The other group game ended in a four-goal thriller as Serbian side Partizan Belgrade played out a 2-2 draw at home to AZ Alkmaar FC of the Netherlands.

Finally, Ed Woodward Approves Deal

Manchester United have made a bid for one of their midfield transfer targets after the approval from chief executive Ed Woodward.

Barcelona star Arturo Vidal is a midfield target for the Red Devils and recent reports stated that the club has made a bid for him.

The Manchester United bid for Arturo Vidal was revealed by Chilean media network DirecTV.

Manchester United have made a £17m bid for Arturo Vidal but Barcelona are reluctant to let him leave the club.

The Red Devils want to bolster their midfield with new players this month especially in the aftermath of the crisis in that department.

Key midfielders Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba are missing for Manchester United for the next few weeks and that has left them short in that department.

Arturo Vidal showed his worth in the colours over the weekend after he got one of the goals in the Catalan Derby clash with Espanyol in the Spanish La Liga.

Espanyol and Barcelona played out a 2-2 draw as the latter finished the game with ten men due to the red card given to Dutch international Frenkie De Jong after two yellow cards.

Vidal scored for the former European champions after the Chilean came on as a second-half substitute.
