Manchester United could fail to prevent Madrid from luring Paul Pogba to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the January window following Zidane’s ‘personal meeting’ with his countryman during the international break.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been a longtime target for the Real Madrid gaffer but all his efforts to have the player under his watch have been fruitless.
Zidane was close to signing Pogba in the summer following Mino Raiola’s transfer comments on the player’s future at Old Trafford but United were active enough to block every negotiation from materializing.

Considering the latest discussion between the two Frenchmen, it won’t be out of place to suggest that Pogba’s days at Old Trafford are numbered and it could come to an abrupt end in January.
He still has two years left on his contract with the Red Devils but could be released by United as long as Solskjaer finds his replacement.
Meanwhile, the World Cup winner won’t be available for selection against Liverpool on Sunday due to an ankle injury which has kept him out of action for several weeks.
Scott mcTominay and —probably — Nemanja Matic could be given the nod to start alongside Juan Mata or Fred at the middle of the pitch.
