Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has slammed the playoff system adopted in the MLS (Major League Soccer) in the United States (US).

The former Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus and Malmo striker complained about the MLS playoff system in a chat with reporters in Los Angeles.
According to him, the playoff system is poor and that it’s not a measure of a true champion.
The MLS Eastern Conference and MLS Western Conference have 12 teams each.
The former playoff system had seven teams qualify for the playoffs from each conference before the champion emerges.

The system has been altered a little with the top teams from the two conferences qualifying for the semifinals.
The other two semifinalists will be decided from the other 12 teams (second-placed to seventh-placed teams from the two conferences) before the overall MLS champion emerges.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been with LA Galaxy for the better part of the last two years.
The Swedish football legend joined the MLS club from Premier League giants Manchester United towards the end of the 2016/17 season.
He left Manchester United in March 2017 while Jose Mourinho was still the manager at Old Trafford.
