Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was speculated to be in talks with AC Milan defender  Leonardo Bonucci over a possible move to the Stamford Bridge stadium in the summer despite being unable to solve the uncertainty surrounding the Blues manager’s position.

Antonio Conte’s future is yet to be sorted out as there are speculations that the Italian manager could be replaced by the club’s board of directors before the start of next season.

Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has been heavily linked to Chelsea coaching job in the summer but there hasn’t been a convincing statement from the manager as regarding the rumours.

Regardless of who will be the coach at Stamford Bridge in the upcoming season, Abramovich is in race to sign the Italian defender who has not been at his best after he joined AC Milan from the Old Lady last summer.

It was earlier reported via Calciomercato that both Chelsea and Manchester City were interested in the £37million-rated player as both clubs want to improve the quality of their defense ahead of next season.

The Sport journal further suggests that Chelsea owner is set to beat the Manchester clubs to the player’s signature when the summer transfer window begins.

If this report is anything to go by, then Chelsea must get rid of either David Luiz, Cahill or Christensen so as to create a space for the veteran defender in the team’s starting XI.
