Manchester United have received a major injury boost following the news that Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne will miss the Premier League clash between the two clubs.
Kevin De Bruyne played a big role for Manchester City in their record-breaking season last term.
He was also named the best player at Manchester City as they won the Premier League title under Pep Guardiola for the first time.
De Bruyne has struggled with injuries this season and his non-participation in the Manchester Derby was confirmed by the Manchester City manager Guardiola.
During his pre-match conference on Tuesday ahead of the crucial Manchester Derby clash scheduled to take place at the Theatre of Dreams , Pep Guardiola told reporters that his star player has a muscular injury.
Kevin De Bruyne sustained the injury during the league win over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
The Belgian player was subbed off for Brazilian international Fernandinho in the first half of the Spurs game which Manchester City won 1-0 courtesy a fifth minute strike from Phil Foden.
The win took the Citizens to the Premier League summit but they have since surrendered top spot to Liverpool who won 2-0 away to Cardiff City later that weekend.
