Despite being back to full fitness, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino chose to drop English star player Danny Rose from the squad to play Arsenal on Saturday.

The full-back started England’s goalless draw against Germany last Friday and also participated in the second friendly against Brazil at the Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old is recently back from injury, and many of us thought he would be part of the starting XI that will clash with Arsenal today at the Emirates – or at least, start on the bench.

However, the England international was not named in Tottenham’s 18-man squad for the London Derby, and it was reported that he was dropped.

Definitely, the decision of manager Mauricio Pochettino to drop Danny for a crucial game of this sort will raise big questions over his future at Tottenham.

The former Leeds player hit out at the London club in an explosive interview some months back as he criticised their wage structure and lack of ambition.

He has been linked with a move away from the club after emerging as a target for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, and the Portuguese boss is known to be keen on bringing him over to Old Trafford.

There were recent reports that the former Chelsea manager has spoken to the management about making a bid for him when January comes, though Tottenham will demand something above £50m.
