Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of his return to Old Trafford in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo and his Juventus teammates take on Manchester United in a top-of-the-table Champions League clash in Group H and the 33-year-old has been speaking about the impact of Sir Alex Ferguson on his career.
According to him via Daily Star, his career won’t be as successful as it is today if not for the influence of the Manchester United legend.
Sir Alex Ferguson attained legendary status at the club after leading Manchester United to a record eleven Premier League titles as well as two Champions League titles.
Cristiano Ronaldo won the 2008 Champions League title in the colours of Manchester United under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Portuguese international skipper also revealed that he’s hoping to make up for lost time after he was sent off in Juventus’ Matchday 1 meeting with Valencia at the Mestalla last month.
Without him, the Italian champions began their Champions League campaign with a 2-0 win over Valencia despite playing the majority of the game with 10 men.
Ronaldo missed the Matchday 2 win over Young Boys as a result of the dismissal.
