On July 1, 2020, Netflix renewed the series for the second season of Never Have I Ever, which gained huge popularity worldwide. For the second time, Mindy Kaling’s hit series will return on Netflix for more episodes.

However, it has been clarified by the streaming service that season 3 of Never Have I Ever will return on Netflix. In addition to this, the second season has got a lot of praise from the fans and as well as from the critics. It has shot number one on the platform chart.

However, in the series, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is playing an awkward role. In season 2, she has been shown that she is always attempting to date classmates at once. She wants this just because she wants to do it before being publically exposed to Paxton.

So we will see how the tale is going to be unfolded in season 3. It was officially announced in August by Ramakrishnan on social media through sharing a meme. There is much entertainment to come in the next season as it is uncertain whether the relationship between Devi and Paxton will be a successful one or disastrous?

While talking to the TVLine, Ramakrishnan “Said that she is not sure about the cast and filming of season 3”.

So it means that there is little known about the plot and events of season 3.

Is Never Have I Ever Season 3 coming?

On August 19, 2021, Netflix has renewed the series for Season 3 and announced it officially on social media that it will be released soon.

As there is no official announcement of the date of release but we are hopeful for it to come. However, our anticipation about season 3 comes from the huge popularity of season 2, which has won the 2020 people’s best choice award.

When will it be released?

Although Netflix has renewed the series for the third season in August, no fixed date has been announced. But, we have to assume from ourselves that it will take at least one year from season 2 for its release and can be expected to be on television in Summer 2022.

Never Have I Ever Season 3 Cast

It is obvious from the current rumours that no changes in the cast have been done for season 3.

If Season 3 is sure to come, we can anticipate that Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar will be given the same central role.

Along with her, there will be the return of Lee Rodriguez as Fabula and Roman Young as Eleanor, as Devi’s best friends. They have helped Devi in every situation of life and always gave her comfort. Now the question is whether they will maintain this kind of behaviour towards her or not?

In addition to this, as we have seen in the final episode of season 2 that Devi is dancing with Paxton(Daren Barnet), so the fans have become curious about their relationship that will happen next? She will keep him in touch, or she will propose to Ben (Jaren Lewinson).

Moreover, in the supporting cast, there will ;

  • Poorna Jagannathan as Nalini Vishwakumar, Devi’s mother.
  • Richa Poorna as Kamala, Devi’s cousin.
  • Emmy Nominee as a therapist Dr Jamie Rayan.

All of the above are expected to come in season 3.

In addition to these characters, the former tennis player John McEnroe is likely to come and narrate his narration.

Plot Theories and Spoilers

As it is clear from the last episode that Devi reconciles with Paxton, and they are coupled publically while rejecting Ben, who watched their company. We are left with the fact that Ben still has feelings for her, and Devi realizes it.

Along with this, Devi is not going to India as expected, but she stays in the US with her grandmother.

Mindy Kaling, the creator of the series, said that the connection between Devi and Paxton is not going to be a strong one in an interview. There are possibilities that they may separate. It is also possible that she may reconcile with Ben. But the fans are not supposed to lose heart.

Further, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she added that comedies are made interesting through the shift and change. She said that when the Central character is happy in love, then it is boring. We have to add more suspense by making the thing unknown.

In addition to this, Jaren Lewinson as Ben in the series is also uncertain about his new relationship with Aneesa (Megan Suri). He further added that I realized that Ben is not Ok in this new company, and it is also uncertain whether his heart is there in the relationship or is it somewhere else.

Moreover, he said, “I am excited about these situations because Ben has never been put in such kind . It will be exciting to watch him”.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, star of Never Have I Ever, told Variety that ” Devi needs to stand up for herself and speak her mind directly.”

Further, she added that although we have seen her in season 2 speaking her mind, which was a great beginning, that was something good about her. But she needs to maintain this sort of behaviour.

She added that “a future course has to be designed by the writers, as they have made public their romance, but it is uncertain whether it will last or not?”

So, in a nutshell, these are just theories and anticipations. Everything we know about up to now is not conclusive. Every ambiguity will be made clear when it arrives at Netflix.
