West London outfit Chelsea now know their fate in their pursuit of £6.9m Malmo centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic. His father has revealed that the Blues have been blocked from making sealing a deal for the player.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has been a big fan of the 21-year-old’s performances in Sweden’s top flight and he attempted making a move for him as soon as the January winter transfer window.

The West London outfit are not alone in the chase of Anel Ahmedhodzic with AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven also showing interest. They have sent their scouts to watch some of his games and monitor his progress. The report so far has been positive as well.

Anel Ahmedhodzic’s father Mirsad, confirmed the Blues interest in his son but noted that the deal is being blocked by the player’s representative, Markus Rosenberg.

Mirsad added that Italian agent, Fredrico Pastorello, has been making efforts to secure good deals for his son by holding talks with several clubs across Europe but there have been issues from his son’s representatives.

“He’s [Rosenberg] not doing his job. He has told Marina [Granovskaia] at Chelsea that Anel is not going there,’ Mirsad Ahmedhodzic told Sportbladet.

“He [Anel] wants to go abroad after the season finishes. ‘Markus hasn’t arranged this, he doesn’t have the contacts. I have tried to inform Markus that Pastorello wants to cooperate with him.”

However, Anel Ahmedhodzic, the former Nottingham Forest player has defended his representative by disagreeing with his father’s claim and expressed disappointment over his comments on social media.

‘To write such things on social media and call other people idiots, not to support me. ‘I have always felt a love for him. But I have not felt any support, he has not supported me in the right way.”
The central defender wants to be focused on his game without being distracted by off-the-pitch issues.
