Ahead of the January winter transfer window, Liverpool are reportedly preparing a bid for defender Milan Skriniar from Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan.
Liverpool is expected to be involved in the January transfer window so as to secure the service of a defender that will serve as a cover for injured Dutch defender, Virgil Van Dijk who is out of the season.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has Brazilian international Fabinho and Joel Matip to bank on but the two players are also battling with injury which makes him rely on teenage defender Rhys Williams for the next couple of games.
The Inter Milan definer is no longer favoured in the Serie A outfit since last season as he is no longer the first choice with just two league appearances this season. There is no doubt about the willingness of Nerazzurri to cash in from his sale, according to ESPN.

Milan Skriniar was valued at £65 million before now but with his current fate, the fee is expected to take a dip because he has not been seen in games. Liverpool will bank on his past record, experience, and availability to bring him to Anfield as soon as the January window is opened.
However, Milan Skriniar is not the only defender linked with a move to the Merseyside outfit as Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak has been linked alongside Brighton’s Ben White.
Meanwhile, Rhys Williams has been very impressive since given the chance which makes at age 18. He is expected to pair with Joe Gomez until a new defender joins the club.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss could also consider shunning the January winter transfer window by sticking with Rhys Williams but that would be a risk at the end of the day because of the need to see out the second half of the season.
