EPL: Arsenal insist on signing a new striker

English Premier League outfit Arsenal will make an attempt to sign a striker in the summer transfer window as they are failing to get Alexandre Lacazette score goals and be consistent with it.

The North London outfit have had to rely on Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for goals and that is a disturbing situation for a club that wants to achieve more.

The North London outfit seem to have the chance of signing Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard in either winter or summer 2021, according to a report.

Odsonne Edouard was a revelation for Celtic last season, scoring 28 goals in the aborted 2019/2020 season which played a role in handing the ninth consecutive title win to the club.

The U21 France international has already scored six goals from nine games for Celtic this season to make it 68 goals from 135 matches. This is enough to draw the attention of the North London outfit that are lacking in such quality at the club.

Odsonne Edouard is a top target for the Gunners and will make a good signing for Mikel Arteta who could decide against keeping Alexandre Lacazette in the coming summer transfer window.

However, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have got until the end of the season prove they want to stay at the club by scoring goals or they would be replaced by the goal scoring Celtic forward.

The North London outfit will soon welcome Brazilian international forward Gabriel Martinielli from injury and his presence in the team could help manager Mikel Arteta with more goals later in the season.

Mikel Arteta has been hailed for setting up a good team for the season’s challenge but he cannot be regarded as being successful if he fails to win a title or secure a top-four finish to return the club to the Champions League.
