Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil could be retiring soon as he is already preparing for life after an active career with his involvement in the San Francisco-based venture capital firm Class 5 Global.
The former Real Madrid player has not played any competitive football since last season after he was frozen out of the team by manager Mikel Arteta.
While he kept training with the team this season, he was not included in the 25-man squad for the Europa League season as well as the Premier League squad this season which makes him unavailable for football anytime soon.
His contract expires in the coming summer transfer window but there are possibilities he would leave the club in the January transfer window if he will not be returning soon as feared.
According to Football.London writer Chris Wheatley, the World Cup winner signed with San Francisco-based venture capital firm Class 5 Global as a strategic advisor.
Making his known to the public and his fans, Mesut Ozil wrote
“I am excited to shape and work on my post-football career while I am still actively playing football.”
It is understood that the German playmaker has been an investor in the company for a while but will take up a new role in the organization and that hints at a role that cannot be undertaken by an active player.
It is also on record that Mesut Ozil agreed to a new sponsorship deal with a Turkish jewelry brand as revealed by Chris Wheatley to increase his investments.
The reason for the fears that Mesut Ozil will be retiring is for the fact that he has not made any claim concerning the plans for the future after he was dumped by the Gunners for the season.
It is also yet to be known if the former Real Madrid midfielder will leave the club in the January winter transfer window or in the summer when his contract expires.
