Former Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien has stated that Arsenal signing Thomas Partey is a good addition for the Gunners and noted that he would have made a big impact if he had joined under former manager Arsene Wenger.

Michael Essien says his compatriot has everything to succeed at the Emirates Stadium after completing a deadline day move from Spanish la Liga outfit Atletico Madrid after his £45 million release clause was activated by the Gunners.

The Blues legend argues that Thomas Partey is just the kind of player the Gunners needed since the ending part of the Arsene Wenger, noting that they would have achieved success with his presence.

He is added that Thomas Partey is an all-round midfielder Arsenal have lacked for many years and he won’t be surprised to see him fit in properly within a few weeks.

“I know him, I have seen him play a couple of times and w do talk now and then,” he told Goal.

Micheal Essien, therefore, urged Thomas Partey to always reach out to him if he has any questions as he is available to help him out.

However, the former Chelsea midfielder is full of the praise of the current Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta, recalling that he played against the former Spanish midfielder when he was at Paris Saint Germain. Michael Essien is also confident that the former Man City assistant manager will be successful on the job.

According to him, Mikel Arteta must keep going as it is a pleasure to see many young managers like him in football.

Michael Essien revealed that he is learning the job as well and a new league so he has not been watching a lot of football because he busy.

Howbeit, Thomas Partey is expected to be a regular face in the North London outfit during games, especially the Premier League and the Europa League.
