Former Liverpool player Adam Lallana has revealed that there is no need to be sorry for manager Jurgen Klopp over the current injury crisis at the club because the German boss loves the current situation.

The Reds team are without heir key defender Virgil Van Dijk who was injured in the Merseyside derby against Everton and has been ruled out of the season> he is now being joined by Fabinho on the sideline with Joel Matip yet to return to fitness.

The Jurgen Klopp team are now left with Joe Gomez and 19-year-old Rhys Williams to carry on until the opening of the January transfer window some weeks coming.

The former Liverpool player who is now with Brighton after being released at the end of the 2019-2020 season claims the German boss is not in the confused mood expected of him, explaining that he would be loving the current situation because he likes being the “underdog” and will relish making the best of the available players to get the results needed.

Adam Lallana stressed that the former Borussia Dortmund boss will not use anything as an excuse and will adapt the squad with the situation to get going.

“He’ll meet the challenge face on, the lads will be in tomorrow and they’ll recover and he’ll pick a team to beat West Ham. Okay, it’s going to be a test but it’s a test that he’ll love and the lads will get together and help each other out.” He told BT Sport.

Howbeit, the January transfer window will not come to an end without a new face at Anfield as a number of names have been listed as possible signings in as soon as the opportunity is presented.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are still having a smooth run in the Champions League and they are level points with Everton on the Premier League table.
