It has not been an easy task for Liverpool to defend the English Premier League title with the injury-plagued the club is currently battling with.

The Merseyside outfit are on level points with their rivals, Everton on top f the league table but the journey has not been as easy as it seems. Jurgen Klopp’s team have been hurt with the 7-0 humiliation against Aston Villa in the Premier League despite having a smooth run in the Champions League so far.

However, the latest development on reports of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah limping heavily down the tunnel after their 2-0 win over Midtjylland is a major concern in Liverpool’s bid to reclaim the Premier League title.

The Egyptian international started the game from the bench in the second half to lift his team by scoring from the spot to seal the three points against the Danish team. The contact between Mohamed Salah and Paulinho seems to have had an effect on him.

This is yet to be confirmed by manager Jurgen Klopp as he did not make any claim concerning the injury in his post-match but fans are left disturbed with the footage of him limping.

Also, Liverpool have lost Fabinho to injury and that is a major concern for Jurgen Klopp especially as he will not have Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk for the who season again.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the Brazilian has a muscular injury and awaits the result of the medical examination but it remains a blow because he has been at the centre-back.

All of the injuries are sure to be a big challenge to Liverpool’s bid to defend the league title and how they manage these injuries and other selections will determine if they will come out of it or not.

The German manager is expected to storm the January winter transfer window to secure a defender as a cover for the injured centre-backs.
