A lot of positive words have been said about the relationship between Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and the technical director Edu during the just concluded summer transfer window unknown to most persons that they actually clashed.
It is revealed that the Spanish boss actually lost the “fight” as his reason for the clash was not achieved with Arsenal bringing in a different candidate from his wish.
The North London outfit brought in Brazilian international Willian, Thomas Partey, and Gabriel Magalhaes and they are both instrumental in the current stride of the club and have made impacts.
L’Equipe via Sport Witness revealed that the reason for the clash between Mikel Arteta and Edu was because of the preference between Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar.
The Spanish boss actually wanted the French midfielder over the Ghanaian international but was unable to negotiate his deal as Lyon refused to come down on their demand for the fee.

It would be recalled that Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas stated that that the North London outfit were timid in their offer for Houssem Aouar and were happy he did not leave eventually.
Edu’s decision to dump the bid for Houssem Aouar was never made clear but he went ahead to ensure the activation of Thomas Partey’s release clause.
However, the former Man City assistant manager has moved on and he has no problem with the coming of Thomas Partey as he has showered praise on the former Atletico Madrid midfielder for bringing in great quality to his team.
Mikel Arteta has revealed that he will now have options of different style of play with the presence of Thomas Partey in the team.
Meanwhile, the North London outfit have been asked to return for the signature of Houssem Aouar in the next summer transfer window so as to complement the effort of the Ghanaian international.
