Arsenal defender David Luiz is already having the opinion that English Premier League giants Liverpool are over talking about the injury of their defender Virgil Van Dijk as it is not supposed to go that way.

The Dutch defender received a tackle from Jordan Pickford against Everton in the Merseyside derby game which affected his knee and it is feared that his season has already ended because he will be spending the next few months on the treatment table.

The Brazilian defender has pleasing and comforting words for the Liverpool defender but claims it is not a big deal for a player to be injured because football is a contact game and such is bound to happen if the player is unlucky.

Speaking before Arsenal’s Leicester City game the former Chelsea defender claims that the laws of the game cannot be changed to avoid such incidents, hence, Liverpool must get to work.

David Luiz stressed that it football, situations like injurers are bound to happen, noting that it is part of the job as a footballer but that should not happen without apologies and humility for all to see.

Football is made to make people happy according to David Luiz and that is why it is most important to protect the football in itself.

However, Liverpool are reported to be in the market to secure a cover for the former Southampton defender as they continue the bid of defending the Primer League title after securing a 2-1 win against Sheffield United on Saturday night.

It would be recalled that the Reds team won the Premier League last title last season by finishing top with 18 points ahead of second-placed Man City.

Liverpool will resume football action on Tuesday night when they play host to Midtjylland at Anfield in the Champions League encounter. It will be their second game after a 1-0 win against Ajax last week.
