Despite losing out on the signature of French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar this summer transfer window, Arsenal still have Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as an option but they could yet lose him.

Chelsea is already linked with the Ghanaian international and they have been urged by a former Mann United defender Rio Ferdinand to make a move for him ahead of the Gunners.

The West London outfit have been busy this summer transfer window, spending about £200 million on the recruitment of players but they must not end it there, according to Rio Ferdinand who claims they need to be rocky at the midfield to stop conceding goals.

He stressed that for the Blues to stop conceding goals, they need a player like Thomas Partey in the team since he can no longer trust the likes of Jorginho and Kovacic for the role.

However, Arsenal are hoping that they can also bring in a defensive midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window on Monday by agreeing on a deal with Jorginho.

The North London outfit missed out on Houssem Aouar and there are no indications that they will activate the release clause of the Ghana international.
