According to the Daily Mirror, English Premier League club, Watford are finding it difficult to offload striker Danny Welbeck and his huge salary.

Former Arsenal attacker Welbeck has been affected by a lot of injury problems during his time with the Hornets.

Danny Welbeck signed for Arsenal in the summer of 2014 following a £16m transfer from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

He won two FA Cup titles under former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Danny Welbeck penned a five-year deal upon joining Arsenal and that ended in the summer of 2019. He went on to move to Watford later that summer.

He’s on a weekly wages of £100,000 and that is proving to be too much for Watford who are now in the second tier of English Championship.

The Hornets are in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.

Their relegation was confirmed on the final day of the season courtesy the 3-2 away defeat at Arsenal.

Watford have tried to get rid of Danny Welbeck and his hefty salary but they have not been successful.

He has two years left on the three-year contract signed by him upon joining the Hornets last summer.

Welbeck is the highest earner at Watford at the moment.
