Arsenal are reportedly ready to offload midfielder Lucas Torreira in a bid to make space for the signing of a new player.
This is according to the report from the stables of The Guardian which said that the Gunners want to sign top midfield target Thomas Partey this summer, and the exit of the Uruguayan international either on loan or on a permanent transfer will make space for his arrival potentially.
Lucas Torreira has failed to perform under new managerial dispensation of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and he’s one of several players transfer-listed at the Emirates Stadium.

Other transfer-listed players at Arsenal this summer include Shkrodan Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac, Sokratis Papasthathopoulos, Calum Chambers and Matteo Guendouzi.
Arsenal signed Lucas Torreira for £26m from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria two years ago and the Gunners have decided to take a hit on the player according to the aforementioned report.
It was revealed that the Gunners will sanction a permanent transfer for just £18m.
Torino and Fiorentina are the only Italian teams interested in him.
The sale of Lucas Torreira will pave the way for Arsenal to sign Thomas Partey who’s the Gunners’ major transfer interest this summer. He has a €50m release clause at Atletico Madrid.
