Aston Villa have been strongly linked with a transfer for highly rated Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard as they hope to pull off a deal for the player before the transfer window ends on the 5th of October.

Odsonne Edouard has attracted the interest of the Gunners since the start of this transfer market but the club will have to move some players on before they can step up their interest in the Frenchman. Interested clubs will have to pay at least £40m to sign the player as per the report from various media outlets.

It had been suggested that Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette could be the man to pave the way for the club to sign Odsonne Edouard but the French international recently told France-based publication L’Equipe that he wants to stay and fight for his shirt at the Emirates Stadium.

Aston Villa and Arsenal are not the only English top flight clubs interested in Odsonne Edouard. Leicester City and Crystal Palace are also in the running for his signature.

For Aston Villa, the exit of Mbwanna Samatta will give the club the impetus to sign Odsonne Edouard.

Tanzanian striker Samatta could leave Villa just ten months after signing for them with a possible loan to Turkish Super League side Beskitas according to Fotospor, a Turkish media portal.
