It has been revealed by respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano that the Spanish La Liga outfit established contact with Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang some weeks ago for the possibility of a deal this summer transfer window.

With one year left to see out his contract with the Gunners, the Gabon international is being linked away from the club with Arsenal also making efforts to agree on a new deal with him.

The Catalans are one of the few clubs that have registered interest in the former Borussia Dortmund forward and are reported to have spoken with him but were instantly told he will still be at the North London for few more years.

However, it has been reported that the Gunners have already sealed a new deal with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that will make him remain at the club until 2023 while his weekly wage will be increased from the £200,000 he currently earns.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been impressive for the North London club, registering about 20 goals in the last two seasons for the club in the English Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Spanish outfit have reportedly tuner their attention to Memphis Depay as they are understood to have agreed on personal terms but yet to submit an official bid to Lyon.
