Arsenal Offered PSG Stopper As Villa Grow Impatient On Martinez

Premier League giants Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) shot stopper Alphonse Areola on loan for the coming season.

This is according to the publication via the Daily Mirror which said that Alphonse Areola could be the man to replace wanted Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are also interested in Brentford goalkeeper David Raya who came close to helping his club into the Premier League before they were beaten 2-1 by Fulham in the Championship playoff final.

Arsenal are not the only ones in the running for Areola, fellow London clubs Fulham and Chelsea are also in the equation.

For Emiliano Martinez, the Gunners player is the subject of a second bid from Aston Villa who are growing impatient over the situation.

Aston Villa have made a new bid of £15m plus add-ons according to the Daily Mail. The Midlands club has lined up Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero as an alternative for Martinez if Arsenal continue to play hardball.

Emiliano Martinez performed well as the first choice Arsenal goalkeeper when usual first choice Bernd Leno suffered an injury. He has tasted the number one shirt and he’s not ready to let go despite the return of German international Leno from injury.
