Manchester United have reserved the iconic number 7 jersey for top target Jadon Sancho as per the report from the stables of ESPN.

It was revealed that Manchester United have changed the shirt number of young attacker Mason Greenwood to 11 and that the iconic number 7 is being reserved for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho who has been the number one transfer target at Old Trafford for the last two summers.

The iconic number 7 jersey has previously been worn by Manchester United legends like David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs and many more.

Manchester United are hopeful that England international Sancho will be able to join that list with the club optimistic of adding him to their playing squad before the transfer window shuts in October.

Recent reports claimed that Manchester United are hoping that they can sign the player for a transfer fee lesser than the £108m asking price slammed on the player by Borussia Dortmund.

Jadon Sancho has already shown his quality in pre-season for Borussia Dortmund netting twice in two games as the Signa Iduna Park outfit prepares for the 2020/21 season.

The England international has spent three years in Germany after moving to Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
