Arsenal have seen their swap offers turned down in the bid to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid this summer according to transfer news specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Ghanaian international Partey is said to be the top transfer target for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta but the club is yet to raise the money needed to pay the €50m release clause in his contract with the Spanish La Liga side.
Arsenal have tried to offer some players in a swap deal to soften the financial weight of a possible deal for Thomas Partey. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have offered both midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and striker Alexander Lacazette but Atletico Madrid want the release clause paid in full.

Another route to sign their top target is through the sale of players to raise the funds needed to push the deal over the line. Several Arsenal players have been placed on the transfer list.
The likes of Sokratis Papasthathopoulos, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac and Rob Holding are available for a transfer.
Sokratis is a target for Italian Serie A giants Napoli, while Lucas Torreira is attracting interest from Torino and Fiorentina (both in Italy).
Kolasinac is the subject of interest from German clubs Schalke 04 and Bayern Leverkusen.
