This could be the time for North London outfit, Tottenham to capture the signature of Italian Serie A outfit, Juventus star Paulo Dybala as he is now available in the summer transfer window.

A first trial to secure his signature last summer transfer window was very close but did not happen as a result of image rights for the player

The latest report now says the Serie A champions are now open to another deal for as long as the £80 million asking price is met because he has been declared surplus to requirement under former manager Maurizio Sarri and that has not changed.

Tottenham boss, Jose Mourinho wanted Paulo Dybala for his former club, Man United when he was in charge at Old Trafford but the club failed to agree on the deal and now he wants it done for his new team.

Man United are known to be strongly linked with Paulo Dybala over the past transfer window but for obvious reasons, they have now dropped their interest and are now focusing on Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the coming season as he hopes to win his first title in his second season as United boss.

Lampard, Klopp disagree with the Premier League over the new season rules

Timothy Aiyeku

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp have both aired the same opinion on the decision by the Premier League to split the 20 topflight teams.

The Blues boss argues that the Premier League have “dropped the ball” by not allowing teams to make up to five substitutions this season as a continuation of the post-coronavirus era.

It would be recalled that a temporal change was made to the substitution rule after the return of football from the coronavirus break which allowed clubs to make up to five changes from the traditional three.

Now that football is gradually returning to normal, there is a split among the clubs over whether to change the rule back to normal or continue with the change of five substitutions per game. This has spitted the 20 topflight teams. The argument is based on the hectic fixture schedule.

Voting was later conducted and it was agreed that the change will revert to three substitutions with manager Jurgen Klopp disagreeing with the outcome after voting for five.

Jurgen Klopp when asked before the vote, stated that he wants the substitution to continue with five for the new season, noting that it is not about favouring big clubs alone. He added that “We have 38 games in a four-week-shorter season that says it all”

He stressed that what is needed is to get through the season before football can return to normal with a balanced calendar. The German boss stated that the players will need the development more as it would have an effect on their performance level.

Jurgen Klopp is now being backed by the Blues boss Frank Lampard who stated that the ball was dropped when the Premier League decided against five substitutions.

According to him, the demand from every club on their players is huge and they have to be helped.

Timothy Aiyeku

Thomas Partey

Liverpool legend John Barnes has affirmed that Arsenal is now a stronger team with the recruitment of Thomas Partey in their team, adding that he will help them to find the right balance.

The Ghanaian international joined the North London outfit in the summer transfer deadline day from Spanish la Liga outfit Atletico Madrid after his release clause of £45 million was activated. His first game for the club got everyone talking and the Liverpool legend also has his voice to lend.

After watching the North London outfit lose against Leicester City, John Barnes is not losing any faith in Mikel Arteta’s side as he expressed confidence that the new signing will help find a balance in the team and help going forward.

The Liverpool legend added that with the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, Arsenal defence will be well shielded as well as the transition from the back to attack.

He said that Arsenal are currently being affected by the strange season with everything going on, citing the Liverpool 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa as one of the effects of the new normal but he is confident that all teams will soon be settled.

John Barnes hailed the Arsenal team for having a good structure process under the Spanish boss as it helps them to look better than they were two seasons ago. The top-four target is a possibility for Arsenal according to the Reds legend.

However, John Barnes argued that the North London outfit have not been scoring goals but that does not mean they do not have good attackers but they are only trying to settle well in the season and will soon get back to their best.

The burden of Arsenal’s goal drought lies on the shoulders of Gabon international forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he has been backed by manager Mikel Arteta to start scoring again.
