Jack Grealish

Both Man United and Chelsea might face a very big summer transfer disappointment as they are set to fail in their bid to acquire the signature of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

Jack Grealish has been on the radar of both clubs even before the end of the season after helping his team to avoid relegation in their last game of the campaign.

He was tipped to leave Aston Villa for a new challenge with Man United leading in the race. It was claimed that after Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish is next on the list.

Chelsea have also been keeping a tab on the player and were preparing a bid already for the summer transfer window.

However, Jack Grealish is set to stay with Aston Villa for more years with the Sun reporting that he would be handed a new bumper deal that will convince him of a stay.

The report claims that the deal will now have Jack Grealish earn £100 per week which is a very significant increase in his current deal with the club.

This development means that Man United and Chelsea will be left disappointed and will have to seek more options for a new midfielder to bolster their squad ahead of the coming season.

Jorginho

The emerging report has revealed that Arsenal’s summer transfer target, Jorginho could sign a new contract at Chelsea that will keep him at the club for more years.

The Italian international was linked away from the Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window after it was claimed that he is no longer favoured at the club and wants a new challenge.

It was reported that Jorginho will come in as a replacement for Lucas Torreira who has now joined Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, especially if Thomas Partey had not signed.

The North London outfit eventually did not sign Jorginho but opted for Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey, yet the Chelsea man is yet to find a club.

It is now being reported that the West London outfit will open talks with the former Napoli midfielder in the next few days with regards to an extension to his current contract.

Jorginho was also linked with a move to unite with his former boss Maurizio Sarri at the Italian Serie A outfit Juventus but that has passed as the Italian boss has been sacked.

The Chelsea midfielder will be forced to stay and fight for his place in the Frank Lampard team if he must find playing time this season.

Thomas Partey

It has now been revealed that West London outfit Chelsea made a move for Arsenal player Thomas Partey when he was with Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid but were not only turned down but reduced.

North London outfit Arsenal ended up securing the signature of the Ghanaian international by activating his £45 million release clause on the deadline day of the just concluded summer transfer window.

It looked like an easy decision for the player and his camp to make when the Gunners made the call that they were ready to activate the release clause but Chelsea did not get the same treatment.

When discussing the interest for Thomas Partey from other clubs, the midfielder’s father Jacob Partey noted that Chelsea came knocking for the player but their offer was rejected because they wanted a bigger team than the Blues.

Jacob Partey added that Italian Serie A outfit Juventus were interested and made a move but they were also not big enough the family had to wait for a big club like Arsenal to give their nod.

Howbeit, the Gunners fans are yet to see their latest signing in the Arsenal shirt and on the pitch but that is set to happen as he had to obey the clarion call from his county.

Declan Rice

West Ham United will have to offer midfielder Declan Rice new improved terms to stop London rivals Chelsea from signing the player.

This is according to report via The Sun which stated that the Hammers will need to increase the player’s £60,000 weekly salary significantly to prevent him from leaving the club for Chelsea.

The Hammers will need to offer the player a new deal worth weekly wages of around £120,000 to ward off Chelsea and manager Frank Lampard.

Chelsea wanted to sign Declan Rice before the transfer window ended earlier this week and were put off by the £80m valuation of the player by West Ham United.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is a big fan of the player who has grown to become a key figure for club and country in the past months.

Declan Rice is a versatile player who can play as a defensive midfielder and as a central defender.

He was formerly at Chelsea before being released by the West London club as a teenager.

Rice left the Blues at the age of 14 and went on to sign for West Ham United almost immediately.

The England international came through the ranks at West Ham and he’s now one of the first names on their starting XI.

The transfer window has ended for Premier League clubs to sign players but there is an avenue for players to leave for other clubs outside the Premier League.

Also, Premier League teams can still sign players from teams in the lower leagues of the English Football League until October 16. This is 11 days after the Premier League transfer window ended.

Some other leagues are still open to the transfer of players. For example, Chelsea were able to send Dutch midfielder Marco Van Ginkel on loan to former club PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie before the close of the transfer window in the Netherlands on Tuesday night.

Van Ginkel secured a loan transfer to the Netherlands after the end of the Premier League transfer window.

The Russian transfer window closes on October 17, while the transfer window in Portugal doesn’t end until October 25.

The Daily Mail reported that as many as six players are scheduled to leave the club after Malang Sarr.

Summer signing Sarr has already joined Portuguese champions FC Porto on loan and the likes of Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Danny Drinkwater could join him in exiting the club.

Malang Sarr became a Chelsea player after the club signed him on a free transfer this summer at the end of his contract with OGC Nice of France.

A lot has been said about Manchester United and their inability to sign players during the just concluded Premier League transfer window.

The Athletic has revealed how the Red Devils missed out on the Kai Havertz signing.

Manchester United were monitoring the player’s progress at Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Kai Havertz, 21, enjoyed a breakthrough season at Bayer Leverkusen in the last campaign and Manchester United were said to have enquired about him.

Chelsea made their biggest signing of thr summer with Kai Havertz. Some media outlets said the Blues agreed to pay as much as £89m for him, while others said the fee is £72m.

Kai Havertz is the Blues’ club record signing ahead of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He scored his first goals for the West Londoners during the Carabao Cup third round meeting with Championship side Barnsley.

Kai Havertz

The emerging reports claim that Chelsea winger Kai Havertz could have been a Man United player, wearing the Reds Jersey and not the Blue but for the fact that the West London club played a fast one.

It is understood that the Red Devils already had Kai Havertz as a target and made efforts to land him but they had their focus on Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and lost him to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the Old Trafford team failed to land the England international winger eventually as they were left frustrated in the negotiation for his signature. The German Bundesliga outfit requested £108 million for the signature of the Man City academy product but Man United could not pay.

According to a recent report by The Athletic, Man United was been monitoring the player when he was with German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen and made their first contact with the German club in January.

The Red Devils did not go ahead with the bid for the player when they were told he would cost £90.8 million but the West London eventually got him in the 2020 summer window for an initial fee of £72 million and that could be rise by £18 million if add-ons and clauses are met.

Man United were able to seal the signature of Alex Telles on the summer transfer deadline day after many weeks of waiting but little did we know that they had an alternative had they not gotten him.

The Red Devils needed a left-back player, and Alex Telles was not the first choice option. Sergio Reguilon was first on the list but he rejected the move and considered joining North London outfit Tottenham from Real Madrid.

The Red Devils had to meet the demand of the Portuguese outfit to bring in the Brazilian international for a fee of £15 million on a four-year deal.

However, it is understood that Man United had Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri as an alternative for Alex Telles and would have signed him if an agreement was not reached with FC Porto, according to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Emerson Palmieri wants to leave the West London outfit after the Blues secured the signature of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City. He is now surplus to requirement at the Stamford Bridge.

The West London outfit had placed a £26 million asking price on the wantaway left full-back and that could be the only issue for the Red Devils as it could be too expensive for their budget.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was a serious target for fellow EPL giant team Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the transfer window.

The German international was deemed to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea after Blues boss Frank Lampard told the player that he can leave the club.

German national team manager Joachim Low was said to have given him permission to skip national team camp in a bid for him to sort out his future amidst the interest from the London duo of West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to German newspaper Bild, Antonio Rudiger could have joined Tottenham Hotspur but didn’t push through with the transfer out of respect for the Blues.

It was revealed that the player didn’t move to join Jose Mourinho at Spurs because of the rivalry between the two clubs.

The Hammers were also keen on signing the former AS Roma centre back but the player turned it down for sporting reasons.

Rudiger knows that he’s not in Frank Lampard’s plans for this season and he would be looking to move to a new club by January.

Chelsea signed Thiago Silva on a free transfer this summer and he’s ahead of Rudiger in the pecking order.

Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori are also ahead of him.
