Should Chelsea listen to the words of former Tottenham and Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov, they will be moving to the Spanish La Liga club, Atletico Madrid for the signature of Jan Oblak this summer transfer window.

The West London outfit are no longer comfortable with the performance of Kepa Arrizabalaga with Frank Lampard considering another option for next season’s challenge.

The Blues have already secured the signatures of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech and are now focused on landing Bayern Leverkusen star Kai Havertz as their next target.

Dimitar Berbatov has therefore stated that the Blues team should ensure the Atletico Madrid shot-stopper is made the next target to have a complete team for next season’s campaign.

According to him, the Frank Lampard team will surely struggle without a better goalkeeping option, stressing that they will have a great one in Jan Oblak.

Meanwhile, Man United have since indicated an interest in the signature of the Atletico Madrid player as they are also unsatisfied with the performance of Spanish goalkeeper, David De Gea.

However, the La Liga club values the Jan Oblak very high and are not interested in losing him despite making his £130 million price tag known to the suitors.

Joao Felix

Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix is on the radar of Premier League side Manchester United who are looking for alternatives in the event that they are not able to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The interest of Manchester United in Joao Felix was confirmed by the Daily Star last summer.

England international Jadon Sancho is the main transfer target for Manchester United this summer. As a matter of fact, the Red Devils’ interest in the player dated back to the start of last season.

Manchester United were not able to sign the 20-year-old last summer and it seems like the same situation will play out in January transer window after Borussia Dortmund slammed an asking price of £108m on the player.

The Red Devils have already agreed the agent fees and personal terms for the transfer but it can’t go through if they are not able to agree a transfer fee with Borussia Dortmund.

Joao Felix is seen as an alternative to Jadon Sancho for the Red Devils including Juventus winger Douglas Costa and  Gareth Bale are also alternatives.

Portuguese international Joao Felix, 20, scored nine goals plus three assists in the Spanish La Liga last season.

He has five years left on his Atletico Madrid contract having joined the club last summer in a £113m deal.

With Suarez n their team, they would have no alternative than to sell him in January.

Is Lucas Torreira proving Arteta right already?

Lucas Torreira

Last weekend game saw Atletico Madrid boss substitute Uruguayan international Lucas Torreira at half-time in their Saturday’s La Liga game against Real Betis and it has been explained as a tactical decision but could the development be proving Mikel Arteta right about his decision to drop the former Sampdoria midfielder.

Lucas Torreira joined the North London outfit with great prospects but he did not meet up to expectation, especially under manager Mikel Arteta as he was loaned out to the Spanish la Liga outfit on the summer transfer deadline day.

The Uruguayan international has expressed delight with the move as he hints he is already happy at the club and well settled, adding that he was unable to play well at Arsenal because of some family issues that made him unhappy in London.

However, he might be suffering the same problem already as he is now being substituted in his third game for his new club. There is no way Lucas Torreira would be left out of a game if he was actually doing the right thing or instrumental to the team.

According to Reuters, substituting Lucas Torreira was a tactical decision by manager Diego Simeone and it has been justified by the fact that they ended up with a 2-0 win, scoring the first goal just a minute after the restart.

Lucas Torreira’s performance in the first 45 minutes proved that he struggled in his role and was unable to make convincing passes. Although he completed 80 percent of his passes and won two from his four duels within the 45 minutes.

It is, therefore, safe to state that the removal of Lucas Torreira from the game ensured Atletico Madrid’s win and that has justified Mikel Arteta’s tactical decision for playing Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka ahead of him before he had the move to Spain.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang played a role in convincing Thomas Partey to join the club from Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid on the summer transfer deadline day.

The Ghanaian international joined the North London outfit after his £45 million release clause was activated on the transfer deadline day.

While expressing his desire to get started at the Emirates Stadium, Thomas Partey admitted that Arsenal’s will to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club for more years also helped to convince him.

According to the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, he said the decision by the Gabon international helped him to know that the club wants to achieve greater things with the big step.

It was earlier feared that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would leave the Emirates Stadium as he was attracting interests from Barcelona and other top clubs but his contract at the club was extended and his weekly wage was increased.

Pundits have earlier stated that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would not have signed a new deal with the Gunners if he was not aware of an ambition to bring in quality players to the club.

So far, Arsenal have been hailed for doing good summer transfer deals, especially with the capture of Thomas Partey, Willian, and Gabriel Magalhaes.
