EPL: Man United looking to hijack Arsenal deal for Gabriel

North London outfit Arsenal are believed to be major contenders for the signature of highly-rated Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes and are expected to make a move this summer transfer window.

If the latest reports are to be believed, then the Gunners will have to act fast on Gabriel Magalhaes as their Premier League rivals, Man United are reported to be planning a hijack of the deal.

The Red Devils have identified the Lille defender as one of the best players available in the summer transfer market and are not ready to take the chance.

Both Arsenal and Man United suffered a lack of depth in their defence during the just-concluded season and are hoping to correct that in this summer window, the reason why they have been in the race for a number of players.

The Mirror reports that Gabriel Magalhaes will now be available to Arsenal, Man United, and Everton’s bidding but the Brazilian would no longer be available for a fee of £20 million. The interest in the player has boosted his value which could make it higher.

Manager Mikel Arteta will only hope for major support from the club board for the release of funds so that he can begin the rebuilding process and return the club to her glory days.
