If the latest report is anything to go by, then Arsenal now stands the chance of having Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho at the Emirates Stadium in the coming season.

The Gunners had indicated an interest in the former Liverpool man and were ready to land him by involving out-of-favour player Matteo Guendouzi in the deal.

It is now claimed that the Spanish giants are also interested in Matteo Guendouzi and will seek to have him as part of the deal but the Gunners will have to include a fee of £45.5 million.

Barcelona invested a whopping £142 million to secure the service of the former Liverpool player and are hoping to cash in a little from his exit as Matteo Guendouzi is yet to match Philippe Coutinho’s quality.

However, this development places the North London outfit in a difficult position because they will not be able to raise such an amount for the deal.

It is reported by ESPN that the North London club are only making £30 million available to manager Mikel Arteta for all his transfer deals this summer window.

Philippe Coutinho has spent the season away from Barcelona with German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich but they are not willing to keep him permanently.
