North London outfit Arsenal are reported to have identified Joelson Fernandes as a transfer target for the summer transfer window.

Portuguese outlet, TVI 24 reports that the Gunners are a step closer to clinching a deal for Joelson Fernandes as they have made their interest known to Sporting Lisbon and have tabled the sum of £13.6 million bid for his signature.

Sporting Lisbon have been making efforts to convince the 17-year-old to extend his deal at the club but that seems not to be positive and the North London outfit are keen to take advantage of the situation to ensure the land the player.

Should Sporting Lisbon fail to extend the contract for Joelson Fernandes, they will be forced to accept Arsenal’s bid for the teenager.

Joelson Fernandes will be lured by the fact that a number of youngsters are given the chance with the Arsenal first team and could excel under manager Mikel Arteta who is a big fan of youth players.

Should Arsenal land Joelson Fernandes this summer, he will join Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Joe Willock as the youth players at the Emirates Stadium.

Howbeit, Mikel Arteta is hoping the Gunners board will give him massive support in the summer transfer window as he hopes to buy quality players that will help the team compete in the coming season.
