English Premier League club Arsenal could be set to land their long-term target this summer window after reports from Atletico Madrid claims Thomas Lemar would be available.

It is reported that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has given up on Thomas Lemar as the player did not reach the potential that is expected which means he would no longer be working with him in the coming season.

Thomas Lemar was given the opportunity by the Argentina manager for 22 games but he failed to register a single goal or assist and that means he has had enough of it.

Despite the poor form, it is claimed that the Gunners are still interested in working with Thomas Lemar and could have him if they show seriousness in the deal.

It would be recalled that the Gunners made efforts to sign Thomas Lemar in 2017 but they were unable to agree with French Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, his former club before the La Liga club finally came to snap him up.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keen to begin a rebuilding process at the Emirates Stadium and has made it clear that it will not happen by magic but with quality players, the reason why he has called for support from the club hierarchy in the summer window.
