Maitland-Niles is one of the brilliant youngsters in Arsenal that have been tipped to form the future of the club but he is already being linked with a move away.

The 22-year-old is keen to have regular playing time and that has informed his desire to leave the club with Brighton already waiting to give him the opportunity he requires.

Mikel Arteta has therefore reacted to the reports, claiming that he Maitland-Niles is a player everyone will love to have at Arsenal because he is young and has got abilities.

The Spanish manager admits not playing Maitland-Niles as expected because of the competition for his position but made it clear that he played the youngster in many different roles in some very important games.

While talks are expected between the club and the player, The Athletic reports that Maitland-Niles is already working on his move away from the Emirates Stadium because he cannot guarantee regular playing time in the coming season.

These are some of the issues Mikel Arteta will have to deal with and that will also determine the nature of his activity in the coming summer transfer window as the plan for next season is to balance the team and begin his rebuilding process.
