It has now become obvious, the reason why manager Mikel Arteta has not shown any fear with the delay in contract extension of Gabon sensation Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Dust is already been raised over issues of his contract. With some months left to the end of his current contract, the Gabon international is yet to seal a new deal and this is coming amidst interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

Knowing his quality and goal-scoring ability, it was expected that Arteta will be desperate to see his captain seal a new deal but his body language has not shown that.

The reason is now made clear after he confirmed that he is positive that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will remain at the club for many years.

When BT Sports asked Arteta about the progress so far on Aubameyang and contract talks, he replied by saying “I don’t know”

He therefore confidently assured that there is no need for worries because he is confident that the former Dortmund player will pen a new deal.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has also confirmed that he hopes to sit with the club anytime soon but noted that he is focused on finishing the season in a better position.

Aubameyang has been outstanding for Arsenal and has set a club record of 50 goals in 75 games after his double against Norwich in the 4-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Bernd Leno

The majority of Arsenal fans have been left disappointed after seeing the team fall by a goal to Man City at the weekend as it hints that the situation has not changed.

The goal by Raheem Sterling was enough to condemn Arsenal for not having what it takes to win any of the big six teams since 2015.

However, goalkeeper Bernd Leno suggests that there are positives that must be celebrated from the game as he boasts that the North London outfit have been able to close the gap on Man City at the top.

He confessed to being disappointed by the defeat, noting that the team felt down but he is proud of the good display in the game because the team competed against Man City which led to the slim win.

Bernd Leno affirmed that the last game against Man City at the Etihad ended in a 3-0 defeat against but that has been slimmed down with the big difference that was witnessed.

According to him, his team’s inability to get past Man City goalkeeper Edison was the only stumbling block in their game as they should have delivered a win or shared the spoil.

Arsenal legend Tony Adams is of the opinion that manager Mikel Arteta has made a mistake in allowing former goalkeeper Emi Martinez to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Emi Martinez left the North London outfit to join Aston Villa for a fee of £20 million after he was instrumental in the Gunners victory in the FA Cup as a result of Bernd Leno’s injury.

The best of Emi Martinez was just seen when he left the club and the Arsenal legend insists that he should have been kept at the club at all cost.

Still reacting on the 1-0 defeat suffered by the North London outfit against Man City, Tony Adams stated that Emi Martinez was still needed at the club because of his quality and what he has to offer.

However, the North London outfit have already secured the service of Alex Runner as a replacement but he is yet to make a Premier League debut.

Howbeit, Emi Martinez insisted on leaving the club as he was no longer interested in being a second-choice goalkeeper. Mikel Arteta has never hidden the fact that Bernd Leno will always be called ahead of him especially for the big games as the Premier League and the Europa League.

Thomas Partey

Going by the hype on Arsenal’s new recruit Thomas Partey, the expectations of the fans is that he will go straight into the team to make the difference that has been wished for.

Sadly for the Gunners fans, he did not get a full debut as he only had a few minutes in the 1-0 defeat against Man City at the Etihad Stadium.

There have been questions coming as to why Mikel Arteta refused to start the Ghanaian international and he has an answer already.

The Spanish boss noted that he was pleased with what he saw in the few minutes handed to the 27-year-old but told the fans that they have to respect the process and timing for Thomas Partey.

He stated that Thomas Partey only trainee once with the team before the game and there is a need for him to understand the new models and information at the Emirates Stadium.

However, the North London outfit will be in action again in the Europa League against Rapid Vienna on Thursday and that could be the first full debut for Thomas Partey knowing that he would have trained more with the team.

Why Tottenham are no laughing stock yet

Graeme Souness has stated that North London outfit Tottenham are no laughing stock despite losing a 3-0 lead to ending 3-3 against West Ham United at the weekend.

The North London outfit were able to make some additions in the summer transfer window but they are yet to enjoy the dividend as they were unable to pick all three points despite an early 3-0 lead in the first half, all thanks to a brace by Harry Kane and another goal by Son.

Graeme Souness has therefore warned clubs like Man United and Arsenal that the best of Tottenham will still be seen once Gareth Bale begins to play regularly.

He noted that Spurs will later be at the same level as Liverpool and Man City when Bale is fully on board. Graeme Souness also tipped Tottenham to now return to the Champions League with the guardians of Jose Mourinho.

Graeme Souness noted that the former Real Madrid star cannot make Tottenham the big club alone but that there are combinations of potency in the current attack of the club.

He stressed that the Tottenham attack which includes, Harry Kane, Gareth Bale, and Son can now be compared with that of the current Premier League title holders, Liverpool.

Has Arteta actually offended this Arsenal Player?

Alexandre Lacazette

English Premier League outfit Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been accused by Andy Cole of offending French striker Alexandre Lacazette by being disrespectful to him.

Andy Cole blasts the Spanish boss for playing Willian as a centre-forward ahead of the former Lyon striker for the Premier League game against Man City at the weekend.

He is of the option that the Brazilian international is an attacking winger by trade and not a centre-forward, insisting that playing him at the position is wrong, especially knowing that he has a striker as Alexandre Lacazette who is sitting right on the bench.

Willian was hailed for only working hard but was unable to deliver a goal while he also missed an opportunity that would have helped Arsenal to deliver a win or a draw in the game.

Alexandre Lacazette was only introduced in the 68 minutes and gave his own contribution but it seemed too late for him to find the back of the net.

Mikel Arteta has made it clear that the team is a work in progress but he is proud of what has been achieved so far, especially after having his team give a good fight to his former club at the weekend.

Shkodran Mustafa

One player some Arsenal fan expected to leave the club in the just concluded summer transfer window is Shkodran Mustafi as he is known to have lost his place as a starter at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners now have a number of centre-backs at the team, especially with the presence of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba. This development has led to the relegation of some players, including Shkodran Mustafi.

It is now believed that Gabriel Magalhaes, Rob Holding, and David Luiz are more favoured than the likes of Calum Chambers, Sokratis Papa, and Shkodran Mustafi in the Mikel Arteta team.

However, the Daily Mail report claims that the North London outfit fans should expect to see more of Shkodran Mustafi until 2021 as amove to the German Bundesliga is in pipeline.

It is understood that Shkodran Mustafi is a target for some Bundesliga teams and there are chances that the North London outfit will cash in from his sale as he will no longer be needed.

Italian Serie A outfit Lazio is reported to be interested in the signature of Shkodran Mustafi but it is understood that he favours a move to Germany than Italy but that will not happen until an agreement is reached with Arsenal.

Nicolas Pepe

Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe might have done a lot to impress at the Emirates Stadium but there is something he is not doing that will earn him the pleasure of being the favourite of manager Mikel Arteta.

The Ivory Coast international joined the North London outfit in the 2019 summer for a whopping £72 million but he is yet to be consistent with what he is known for but his performance has continued to improve by the day.

An Arsenal legend Sol Campell in his analysis of Nicolas Pepe stated that the player will do great things at the Emirates Stadium, especially after making the starting XI in the 1-0 defeat against Man City on Saturday evening.

The Arsenal legend admits that Nicolas Pepe is a drifter and he is smooth at doing that but he must ensure that he gets into gear and be more consistent with it.

In addition, he stated that the former Lille winger must deliver when he gets to the danger zone by finding the back of the net as that is the only way he can be a favourite of the Spanish boss.

Sol Campbell insists that Nicolas Pepe will be Mikel Arteta’s favourite if he scores more goals or gives the goalkeeper more work to do.
