Inter Milan player Lautaro Martinez has become one of the best young strikers in world football on the back of his impressive outings for the Nerazzurri over the last 12 to 18 months. His quality has come to the attention of several European sides like Barcelona and Manchester United.

At Inter Milan, Lautaro Martinez has formed a very good strike partnership with Romelu Lukaku. The two players have played a big part in firing the Nerazzurri to the level of Italian Serie A contenders alongside defending champions Inter Milan and Lazio.

The Italian Serie A title challenge has been a three-team race for the majority of the season and hostilities will resume when the league returns next month. Argentine international Martinez would be hoping to propel Inter Milan to a first title in a decade at the expense of Juventus and Lazio having already scored 11 goals in 23 league games in this current season. In total, the petite striker has scored 16 goals in 34 games in all competitions thus averaging around a goal in two games.

Barcelona and Manchester United are the two clubs with registered interests in Lautaro Martinez according to media outlets in Spain and Italy, though the Spaniards are regarded as overwhelming favourites to sign the player who has a release clause of €100m in his Inter Milan contract.

Manchester United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer want to sign a striker this summer and they have been linked with a lot of names to that effect despite the presence of Nigerian striker Odion Jude Ighalo. He joined on a short-term loan in January and has impressed a great deal since then but the loan deal expires at the end of next month. Ighalo has scored four goals in a handful of games for the Red Devils.

The Red Devils will have to see off Barcelona who see Lautaro Martinez as the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez for them to win the race to sign the player.

Transfer Ratings for Lautaro Martinez to Manchester United: 2/10.
