Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has had to deny the transfer rumours linking him with a move to Spain this summer with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid said to be interested in him. According to the French international, his long-term future is at the Emirates Stadium but as we all know that the transfer market is fickle and anything could happen between now and next season.
Atletico Madrid have previously expressed public interest in the player especially when he was at Lyon. Lacazette could have signed for the Rojiblancos shortly before he joined Arsenal in 2017.
The latest interest in him from the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium is in the form a possible swap deal with Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey who is a serious person of interest to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. Ghanaian international midfielder Partey is high on the list of targets for the Gunners as per the reports in the United Kingdom (UK) media.

Arteta wants to rebuild his midfield ahead of next season and Lacazette could be sacrificed to get Partey to do the job needed in the Arsenal midfield. Partey has shone for his club this season and they have an able replacement for him in the shape of Marcos Llorente who was responsible for the downfall of Liverpool in their Champions League round of 16 tie. Llorente scored twice as a substitute in extra time to send Atletico Madrid through to the quarters at the expense of the defending champions.
Alexandre Lacazette has spent three seasons at Arsenal including the current one which has been his poorest. He lost his place to young strikers Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah at various points of the season.
His loss of form led to calls for his sale from some section of the Arsenal fanbase. Atletico Madrid are the overwhelming favourites to sign him if he becomes available and a swap deal with Thomas Partey makes the transfer doable amidst its complexity.
Transfer Ratings for Alexandre Lacazette to Atletico Madrid in a swap deal with Thomas Partey: 4/10.
