The interest of AS Roma in Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez has dominated the Italian newspapers in the last two days. The capital club is keen to sign the attacker for the new season despite his disappointing spell in Italy this season.
According to various media outlets in Italy, AS Roma want to take the Chilean international on loan for next season. Alexis Sanchez has been on loan at Inter Milan this season and he has hardly made any positive impact on the Nerazzuri partly due to being out of action got several months because of an ankle injury.
Manchester United had to farm Alexis Sanchez out on loan to Italy at the start of this campaign after a disastrous 18 months at the club. He failed to reach the least expectation demanded of a player who’s the highest paid at Old Trafford with weekly wages said to be around £500,000.

Alexis Sanchez was one of the best players in the Premier League while he was at Arsenal but the Chilean forward has not been able to rediscover that form at the Theatre of Dreams following his swap transfer at the start of 2018. Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved to Arsenal from Manchester United in a deal that saw Sanchez move in the other direction.
Manchester United saw off rivals Manchester City in the race for Alexis Sanchez and it is safe to say that they have not gotten their money’s worth on the player who scored just five goals in 18 months at Old Trafford.
A change of environment and league was expected to improve his form but that has not happened at Inter Milan who are not even considering making his loan move permanent. The interest of AS Roma is good news for Manchester United though the club will most likely need to continue to pay a certain percentage of his hefty wages for the loan move will happen.
Transfer Ratings for Alexis Sanchez to AS Roma: 7/10.
