Manchester United compete for the signature of Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White with three of their rivals.
Ben White has been in sensational form for English Championship leaders Leeds United being on loan from Brighton in the Premier League.
The Sun revealed that Manchester United are potentially facing a four-day battle with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City also involved.
Manchester United broke the defenders’ transfer record to sign English centre back Harry Maguire last summer in a deal said to be worth £80m and he has been a success story at the club.
Harry Maguire has been elevated to the skippers’ position at Manchester United following the exit of Ashley Young to Inter Milan during the January transfer window.

For the better part of the season, Victor Lindelof has been the centre back pairing for Harry Maguire at the heart of the Red Devils’ defence but the Swedish international has been found wanting on some occasions, and the club could be keen to sign a proper partner for the former Leicester City defender.
For Tottenham Hotspur, manager Jose Mourinho is keen to reconstruct his defence ahead of next season. His team has been porous defensively.
Jose Mourinho has employed the services of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertoghen, Japheth Tanganga and Davidson Sanchez in the centre back positions. RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano has also been linked with the position at Spurs.
Just like Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal are also in the market for a centre back and they are also interested in the aforementioned Dayot Upamecano.
The Gunners tried to sign Dayot Upamecano last summer but they were unable to pull it off. It is expected that they will try to sign him again this summer.
