Timo Werner has been informed that Manchester United want to sign him in the summer.

According to the The Athletic, German international Timo Werner has gotten a transfer proposal from Manchester United who are keen to sign a new striker this summer.

The Red Devils are yet to sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku since the Belgian international player left the club last summer.

Romelu Lukaku is an Inter Milan player after  they paid £73m to sign him from the Red Devils at the start of the season.

For now, Manchester United have Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo whom they signed on loan during the winter transfer window last month.

Ighalo joined the Premier League giants on loan for the rest of this season without any option of a permanent transfer.

He signed for the Red Devils from Shanghai Shenshua FC of China.

Odion Ighalo scored his first goal for Manchester United as he netted during the 5-0 thumping of 10-man Club Brugge at home in the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie played on Thursday night.

Manchester United were able to establish a 6-1 aggregate win over their Belgian opponents and are one of the 16 trams for the next stage of the competition.

Manchester United are not the only club with a transfer proposal for Timo Werner as Spanish La Liga side Barcelona are also interested in him, The Catalans have sent a transfer message to him.

German champions Bayern Munich are also interested in him but they are yet to make a move on the player who has scored 27 goals plus 11 assists in 33 games this season.

Liverpool appear to be the preference for the petite German international player.
