EPL: Top Four Players To Replace Paul Pogba Next Season

Amuda Segun

Paul Pogba

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will almost likely leave the club ahead of next season and the Red Devils have already started the hunt for a replacement for him.

Pogba has one year to go on contract at Old Trafford though Manchester United have the option of activating the extra year clause in that contract to take him till the end of the 2021/22 season.

His agent Mino Raiola has already talked up his exit from Manchester United with the likes of Real Madrid and former club Juventus interested in him.

Paul Pogba was a big target for Real Madrid and manager Zinedine Zidane last summer but club bosses led by president Florentino Perez deemed him to be too expensive.

Real Madrid and other interested clubs like Juventus, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) can sign him for £100m this summer.

Here are viable transfer options to replace Pogba this summer:

Boubakary Soumare

The Lille midfielder was a serious target for Manchester United and Chelsea in January but he opted to stay at his French club until this summer at least. He has been a regular in the Lille lineup this season.

Jack Grealish

The English midfielder has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and he has been the catalyst for Aston Villa as they aim to avoid relegation to the English Championship in their first season back in the top flight. The former champions are one point and one place better than West Ham United who occupy the last relegation spot.

James Maddison

The England international is one of the top targets for Manchester United ahead of this summer. He has scored nine goals for Leicester City this season.

Declan Rice

The West Ham United star is one of the young English midfielders on the radar of Manchester United.

No more worries, Arsenal striking option already says he is coming

Timothy Aiyeku

The future of two Arsenal strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain with fears they could be having their last season with the club.

Aubameyang is currently in contract talks with the Gunners hierarchy and his demand seems to be unrealistic. He has requested for a £250,000-a-week deal and a 3 years contract which reports claim Arsenal are unwilling to pay.

He could therefore, be sold in the summer transfer window to cash in on him and avoid losing him for free.

Lacazette’s fate in Arsenal is also unknown following reports that he could be involved in a swap deal to Atletico Madrid for Thomas Partey to switch to the Emirates Stadium.

This makes the need for a striking option in Arsenal urgent with a major target, Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg already coming out to express his desire to join the North Lindon outfit.

A Bild report claims that Arsenal are in contention for the player with Newcastle and the Bundesliga outfit has slammed a price tag of £31.54 million for the Netherlands international.

Should Arsenal find him worthy, replacing Lacazette and Aubameyang, if they leave will not be difficult especially after the player has made a come-get-me plea.

The 27-year-old striker scored 16 goals and provided three assists in the Bundesliga this season.

Arsenal told how to make cool money ahead of summer transfer

Timothy Aiyeku

Arsenal are in the market for new additions ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to improve their squad for next season’s challenge.

This has been confirmed by manager Mikel Arteta who claims the club are already making plans and they will do all that is necessary to strengthen and balance the squad.

The financing of their proposed deals could cause a hindrance, but they now have an added option to make money as advised by an Arsenal -oriented journalist Amy Lawrence when he appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘Handbrake Off’ podcast.

He noted that the Gunners have not made use of French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi in few games over issues he does not know.

According to him, the young French midfielder could serve as an income if the Gunners decide to place him in the market.

Lawrence noted that Arsenal made a good investment in the player and his value has since increased since he joined which makes him an asset already.

The journalist claimed that the only reason why this should not happen is if Mikel Arteta is only trying to work on the player’s physiology for not playing him to be able to get the best of him later on.

If not, he is hopeful that Arsenal will make something meaningful from Guendouzi’s sale as he is a talented player with great potential.

Chelsea earn from another completed deal

Timothy Aiyeku

English Premier League outfit Chelsea have earned the sum of £3 million from the transfer deal of Brazilian talent Nathan.

Nathan is not known at Chelsea because he has long been out on loan deals. He signed the player in 2015 from Atletico Paranaense after he impressed with Brazil’s youth teams. he lived in his shadow, and he could not beat the competition in the Chelsea team.

The Brazilian international has had loan spells at Vitesse, Amiens and Belenenses but they were all unsuccessful which forced him back to his homeland to join Mineiro on an initial season-long loan where he enjoyed little success. He is lucky to have his loan made permanent.

The Sun reports that the West London club splashed a £6.5 million price-tag for the now 24-year-old but was forced to take £3 million in order to part ways with the player.

The former Brazil youth international has scored five times in over 35 appearances for Mineiro to date.

While he could not give his best for Chelsea, there are hopes that he still has plenty to offer with time also at his advantage. Nathan is now 24 and can still establish himself in the Brazilian top-flight’s most dangerous attackers.

What you do not know about Willian’s transfer speculation

Timothy Aiyeku

Brazilian International Willian is already being linked away from Chelsea as issues of his contract extension is yet to be settled.

It is claimed that he would be leaving the Stamford Bridge this summer window with Chelsea hoping to cash in on him.

Man United and Arsenal, as well as other clubs in Europe, are reported to be jostling for the signature of the star player while he is still calm, looking forward to finishing the season on a good note.

What has been untold over Willian’s transfer speculation is the fact that he is not interested in leaving the West London outfit while Frank Lampard is still a big fan of the Brazilian and doesn’t want to see him out yet.

The Blues boss has now come out to state that he is still fighting hard to convince Willian on a new deal at the club.

Willian is insisting on a 3-year deal while Chelsea who are only ready to hand him 2 years because of the club’s policy on players who are more than 30 years of age.

Frank Lampard has made it clear that he will only be wishing Willian the best in his career if he eventually fails to agree with the club but efforts will be put in place to convince him for more years at the Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang, Lacazette friendship coming to an end?

Timothy Aiyeku

There are fears that the much cherished friendship between Aubameyang and Lacazette is already nearing its end.

Both players have enjoyed amazing relationship both on and off the pitch. They are best of friends and that has helped them work perfectly in the Arsenal attack.

Unfortunately, the closeness between them is being threatened by the fact that they could be separated in the coming summer transfer window if reports of their future at the Emirates Stadium is anything to go by.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has got 12 months left to the end of his current Arsenal deal and efforts for talks of a new deal might be far from being fruitful.

The Gabon international has demanded a 3 years contract and a wage of £250,000-a-week. It is already assumed that the Gunners will not be able to meet up and will decide to cash in on him this summer to avoid losing him for free.

A similar case is associated with Lacazette as he is reportedly involved in a proposed swap deal to Atletico Madrid for Thomas Partey in the summer window.

Arsenal are keen on the Ghanaian midfielder and are ready to hand over the France International who is needed in Spain.

Should the above happen, both players will be forced to go separate ways and that might affect their friendship which obviously helped their performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Man United Vs Bournemouth: Solskjaer to field fresh team?

Timothy Aiyeku

Man United will be hoping to continue their smooth run with a win when they host Bournemouth later on Saturday in the Premier League clash at the Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been commanding in their last two games, defeating Sheffield United and Brighton 3-0 to earn a place in the 5th position.

It is expected that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will field a new team, different from the ones that enjoyed the previous wins.

This is after the former Red Devils player hinted that some of the players are injured and will need assessments before confirming their availability.

Solskjaer noted that there are more games to be played which makes it unnecessary to force players back to the pitch.

After reports that Bruno Fernandes had a knock in training, he could be rested by the manager with Fred likely to pick up a central midfield role while Paul Pogba is allowed to advance.

Luke Shaw could also be rested for Brandon Williams a start at left-back.

However, those expected to start the game will be predicted from the latest team news that would be made public by the Norwegian manager.

Solskjaer noted that the remaining games left are important because it would be played against clubs that they have points to prove.

Why United may not sign Sancho despite personal terms agreement

Timothy Aiyeku

Jadon Sancho

The news have gone viral about Jadon Sancho’s personal terms agreement with English Premier League outfit Man United, and there is no doubt that it’s a major progress in the bid to snap him up.

Man United are keen on the England international winger who has proven his quality in the German Bundesliga with Dortmund.

The deal dragged with different speculations now there is a stand in the bid to land the star player as personal terms have been agreed upon.

However, the major bone of contention is yet to be settled and that remains the asking price of the 20-year-old.

Borussia Dortmund have slammed a £100 million price tag for the player which obviously, the Red Devils are unwilling to meet because they do not value him in that regard.

The Red Devils boss Ed Woodward had already made it known they are unwilling to pay more than £50 million for the youngster and that hasn’t changed.

This is the reason why a deal for Sancho might not be as close as it seems. Both clubs will now enter negotiations and that largely determines a deal for the youngster.

While Man United might be ready to shift ground from the £50 million they initially value the player, they will not be willing to pay £100 million.

Same applies to Dortmund who are interested in the sale of Sancho. They are willing to come down from the initial £100 million asking price but will not go as low as £50 million.

Man United now have ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’ in Old Trafford

Timothy Aiyeku

Cristiano Ronaldo

One of the greatest players to have played in Man United in recent times is Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since his exit from the club, the Red Devils have been making efforts to land a player of his kind but that has been more difficult than expected.

Maybe the end of the wait has come with former United forward, Dimitar Berbatov claiming that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now has Cristiano Ronaldo in Mason Greenwood, adding that there is no need for any big-money deals in the summer transfer window.

Berbatov told Mirror Football that watching Greenwood, against Brighton, was like watching Ronaldo.

He hailed Greenwood’s left foot and vision, stressing that Man United can get to the next level with such quality.

Noting that the player is only 18, Berbatov claims he is maturing and improving by the day which would go a long way to help the team.

The former Man United forward added that a player that can play both in and out of the box as well as create chances is a special talent and needs to be nurtured and encouraged with more playing time.

However, it is expected that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will participate in the summer transfer window especially as he is expected to sell some of his current players.
