Where Will Timo Werner End Up Next Season? Liverpool Or Chelsea?

RB Leipzig hitman Timo Werner has been one of the most in-form strikers on the European football stage and he’s a major target for two Premier League clubs.

Liverpool and Chelsea are the two English teams interested in the German international.

The next destination for Timo Werner this summer is far from certain and staying at RB Leipzig is another option for him but that’s highly unlikely.

Timo Werner has scored 25 goals for his German Bundesliga side in all competitions this season and it’s not surprising that several European clubs are on his trail.

The German attacker has 20 goals and six assists in 21 league games and he’s just behind Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Golden Boot at the end of this campaign.

In addition, Timo Werner has scored two goals and two assists in three German Cup games.

He was a key player for RB Leipzig as they secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League at the end of the group stage campaign last year. Werner scored three goals in six group stage games as RB Leipzig sealed a first knockout stage meeting with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

For now, Timo Werner has two major transfer options this summer: Chelsea and Liverpool. He has a £60m release clause in his RB Leipzig contract according to popular German newspaper Bild.

Earlier reports had stated that Timo Werner has reached an agreement with Liverpool over a transfer to the Merseyside club in the summer but that is wide off the mark. The Reds are still the favourites to sign him ahead of rivals Chelsea.

Liverpool is a more attractive club than Chelsea at the moment but his playing time is not assured at Anfield because of the front trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Timo Werner would certainly get more playing time at Stamford Bridge.
