Manchester United are facing the prospect of losing Academy graduate Tahith Chong for free this summer.

Dutch junior international Tahith Chong came through the ranks at Manchester United before making his first-team debut.

The 20-year-old has six months left to run on his present deal at the Theatre of Dreams.

His Manchester United contract will expire this summer.

He has played around 400 minutes of football under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Tahith Chong has demanded a weekly contract of £35,000 to extend his Manchester United contract but the Red Devils are not prepared to grant him his request according to The Athletic.

The u21 Dutch international was considered to be the greatest young talent at Manchester United around a year ago but he has not been able to step up to be a regular fixture in the first team.

Other young players like Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams have surpassed him in that aspect.

Striker Mason Greenwood has scored 10 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils, while Brandon Williams is a regular at left-back.

Tahith Chong made an impressive second-half appearance at the weekend as Manchester United beat League One side Tranmere Rovers 6-0 in the FA Cup fourth round.
