Premier League giants Arsenal are braced up for a bid from Barcelona for their skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to the Daily Telegraph.

Barcelona are in the market to sign a replacement for injured star striker Luis Suarez and Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a major target for the Catalans.

The Spanish champions were dealt a big blow earlier this month following the injury to Luis Suarez.

Barcelona won’t be without the Uruguayan international for the next four months after he underwent knee surgery.

Luis Suarez has been at Barcelona for almost six years on the back of his £75m transfer from Liverpool.

Aubameyang has 18 months left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona would be able to prise the Gabonese international from Arsenal.

The Arsenal skipper recently rebuffed the various transfer rumours linking him with an exit from the North London club.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season and he has 16 goals in all competitions for the Gunners this season.

He has been at Arsenal since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund two years ago.

Barcelona could turn their attention to other striker targets like Rodrigo Moreno of Valencia, Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan if they fail lure Aubameyang away from Arsenal.

Barcelona have turned their interest towards Rodrigo as a replacement for Luis Suarez this January transfer window, opening the door for Paris Saint-Germain to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t be joining Spanish champions Barcelona this month according to the London Evening Standard.

Earlier reports had stated that Barcelona want to sign the Arsenal skipper on loan till this summer before they spend big on a striker like Lautaro Martinez who plays for Italian Serie A title contenders Inter Milan.

The above mentioned report stated that Barcelona are no longer interested in signing Aubameyang as they have concerns over his age (the Gabonese international will be 31 by June), the difficulty of doing a deal for him in the middle of the season.

Barcelona are looking for a new striker after Luis Suarez was ruled out for several months as a result of the knee injury he sustained earlier this month.

Luis Suarez has undergone knee surgery and rehabilitation will take close to four months.

Apart from Gunners skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Barcelona have been linked with Valencia and Spanish international striker Rodrigo Moreno who has a €60m release clause in his contract.

Valencia are open to the negotiation table for Rodrigo Moreno meaning that Barcelona can sign the striker for a lesser transfer fee than the release clause in his present deal with the Spanish Copa Del Rey holders.
