Two Premier League clubs have started active transfer talks in the bid to sign AS Monaco loanee Islam Slimani who’s on loan from another Premier League team in Leicester City.
Islam Slimani is an Algerian international striker on loan at French giants AS Monaco for this season having joined them from Leicester City last summer.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are the two Premier League teams interested in taking Islam Slimani back to the top flight of English football and the Daily Star said that both clubs have initiated active talks for the player.
Islam Slimani was one of the most in-form strikers in Europe when Leicester City signed him in 2016.
He had scored 48 goals in 82 appearances for Sporting Lisbon before the Foxes snapped him up four years ago.
Slimani went on to score just eight Premier League goals in 39 matches before being loaned out to clubs like Newcastle United in the same English top flight as well as Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce.
He didn’t achieve much during his loan spell at these two clubs before the AS Monaco loan transfer at the start of this campaign.
In France, Slimani has scored seven goals and seven assists in 13 league matches.
