Manchester United fans have slammed the club’s chief executive Ed Woodward for the role he played as the Red Devils missed out on Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund at the end of last month.

A lot of Red Devils took to their various social media portals to vent their fury on Ed Woodward after Erling Haaland made a sensational debut for Borussia Dortmund during their league game at FC Augsburg.

He was introduced into the game before the hour mark with his new club trailing 3-1 and the Norwegian international went on to turn the game around in favour of Borussia Dortmund.

The 19-year-old striker scored a fantastic treble to give Borussia Dortmund 5-3 with his goals coming in the space of just 34 minutes.

Manchester United were thought to be the next destination for Erling Haaland before Borussia Dortmund ensured that it won’t be the case.

The Red Devils were not ready to meet the big financial demands from his agent Mino Raiola who doesn’t have a good relationship with the players.

Erling Haaland has been the breakout star of the last one year and it was further highlighted during the Augsburg game.

Borussia Dortmund paid just £19m to secure his transfer.
