Manchester United are the frontrunners to sign Bruno Fernandes from Portuguese Super League giants Sporting Lisbon in this January window but Tottenham Hotspur could still have a say on where the player will end up by the time the current transfer market runs out at the end of this month.

Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on the highly rated midfielder but they have to move ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester United in the queue to sign the player.

The North Londoners have it all to do with the player who has already made his mind up on a transfer to Old Trafford having already agreed terms with the Red Devils.

Reports now claim that Manchester United have already agreed a whooping £98k-a-week Bruno Fernandes deal.

Tottenham Hotspur will be ready to take advantage of any slack from Manchester United with the club desperate to sign players in midfield and attack due to the injuries to Moussa Sissoko and Harry Kane.

Both Sissoko and Harry Kane are expected to be out till April because of knee and hamstring injuries respectively.

Spurs will definitely be a better team with Bruno Fernandes in their starting XI.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Paolo Gazzaniga; Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertoghen, Danny Rose; Eric Dier, Bruno Fernandes, Giovanni Lo Celso, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-Min.
